The editorial office of the journal, in its activities, applies fundamental principles of academic integrity and all ethical standards in relation to all participants in the publishing process. Accordingly, each complaint submitted to the editorial office is subject to consideration and analysis, the result of which is a response to the complaint, including cases where it is submitted anonymously. The editorial office pays particular attention to the availability of an evidentiary basis regarding the substance of the complaint. Therefore, if a complaint contains indications of defamation or takes the form of a conflict of interest, the editorial office requires the submission of substantial arguments that may serve as an evidentiary basis for the validity of the essential part of the complaint, fully refuting suspicions of defamation or the existence of a conflict of interest. Otherwise, the fact of the complaint is recorded, but no proceedings are initiated until such arguments are provided.
Any statements made on social networks, comments, and similar sources shall be considered by the editorial office if they are not defamatory and contain a direct appeal to the editorial office of the journal. The editorial office periodically monitors such discussions; however, this does not guarantee the detection of all comments, posts, and similar materials. Such statements shall not be considered official. Nevertheless, if substantiated and/or scientifically justified claims are identified, they may be considered even without an official appeal to the editorial office.
When selecting the form of response, the editorial office adheres to the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics. If a complaint is made regarding published articles and its validity in terms of content is confirmed, the editorial office applies a policy of article retraction.
